Wednesday 25th March 2020
Key Essential Services Statement – (Updated 25th March 2020)
Now that the Prime Minister has announced the latest measures in the UK’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Formula One Autocentres is in full support of the government and its positive stance in its approach to the current crisis.
In these unprecedented times it is vital that all key workers, in particular emergency workers and the remaining schools personnel and the wider community have access to our tyre services, MOT testing, vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Many of our customers, both individuals and organisations, including emergency workers, teachers and those providing vital community services rely on us to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy and safe.
It is absolutely vital that our team play their part in keeping the road transport network moving.
We will continue to monitor and review the situation in line with the latest government guidelines.
At this time all Formula One Autocentres remain open and operational
Given the developing situation with regard to the COVID-19 outbreak, Formula One Autocentres is taking the spread of Coronavirus very seriously.
We are carefully monitoring the situation and our paramount priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers, with this being our key consideration when making any decisions.
Currently, all our centres remain open and we are continuing to follow Government guidelines closely; ensuring that Health & Safety protocol is followed at every Centre and taking all the precautions we can to help prevent the spread of the virus.
We are endeavoring to keep everyday operations going wherever possible however from today (Monday 25th March 2020), customer toilet facilities will be completely closed off to the public.
Further precautions we are undertaking as a company also include:
Cleaning and Hygiene
We have increased our precautionary cleaning measures in our centres, particularly for those high-contact point areas touched regularly by staff members and customers.
Our centre staff continue to be stringent around cleaning regimes and hygiene including thorough, frequent handwashing as well as wearing gloves and changing them regularly. Car seats and mats will also be used to minimise contact inside the vehicles.
We are being extra vigilant on personal space, and as instructed by UK public health agencies are exercising social distancing. This includes keeping a 2 metre distance from other people where possible. We would appreciate if our customers could also observe the same procedure, in order to protect themselves and our employees.
We've temporarily changed our practices to help minimise contact and will not ask for your signature on paperwork or in store tablets.
You'll be invited to receive quotations and invoices by email which we would appreciate you accepting to further minimise contact.
We recommend you making payment by credit or debit card, although cash will still be accepted.
Vehicle Drop Off
Please enter the Centre reception to notify us of your arrival. If you can leave your vehicle with us for the duration of your appointment, you will be advised to do so at that point.
If you're unable to leave your vehicle with us, you will be asked to return to your vehicle and remain there until a Centre employee is ready to collect the vehicle from you. You can then wait outside the centre or in the waiting room whilst work is undertaken on your vehicle.
We request that if waiting onsite that you continue to observe the 2 metre rule to minimise contact at all times.
As the situation evolves, we will post further updates on this page of our website and on our social media channels.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation at these challenging times.
