- Run-flat tyres have reinforced sidewalls and are designed to keep the tyre fixed to the wheel, even when operating at low pressure. Most tyre manufacturers DO NOT recommend a Run-flat tyre be repaired following use at reduced pressure.
- BMW recommended tyres. These tyres have been specifically designed to compliment the performance characteristics of their vehicles.
These replaced a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres on the front of my BMW X3 M-Sport 3.5. The Michelin Primacy 3's are quieter, as good in the dry and better in the wet. Fuel economy seems to be unchanged. The Pirelli tyres were on the car when I bought it and had 6 to 7mm of tread. They were replaced after 13,000 miles, the fronts still had 3.5 mm of tread but as I was replacing the rears... The Michelins have now done 11,00 miles and still have 5 mm of tread remaining, so much better than the previous tyres. The only down side is the price, but since they look like lasting a lot longer, they work out cheaper by the mile.
